Love Angeles was originally founded by David Wilson (Good Morning Orbit) as a trio featuring Anthony Catalano (pre-Little Hurricane) and Ed Larson (Reel Big Fish). A later lineup included Wilson with drummer Eric Russo, guitarist Conor O’Brien, and bassist Daniel Clasen. That roster "Played a couple shows, then Daniel and Eric moved away," according to Wilson.
The Hero in Me, released in 2016, was a decade in the making. "I made the decision [in 2006] to save any money I had because I knew one day I wanted to record the album of my dreams," says Wilson.
As of 2019, the band featured Wilson with drummer Jules Stewart and bassist Andrew Murguia.
